Whitney Sundquist Jose

Whitney is always saying “I have the best job in the whole world. I get to be an intimate part of people’s lives and support them through their most tender moments, hurts and disappointments to attain their dreams.” Working in private practice for over 18 years, Whitney has found her therapeutic passions. She loves to work with men and women who have experienced trauma, and are experiencing issues of self-discovery, life transitions, relationship struggles, grief and loss, self-esteem and interpersonal issues. Her favorite models are EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and Internal Family Systems, which she uses integratively to help clients who feel “stuck.” Whitney can work with you to desensitize strong emotions, and to help you rewrite your past experiences and beliefs about yourself.

We all can speak of experiences that are significant to our lives and have shaped who we are, positively and negatively. Though these experiences are now in our past, they are moldable in the present. We now know through neuroscience that we can change how our experiences impact our current lives. The best feeling ever is when Whitney is sitting with a client who is working through these moments, and she gets to witness their creation of new belief systems, their experience of internal power, their growing self-empathy and self-forgiveness, and hear them share how they are operating from a more fulfilling and life-giving place. It blows her away to experience the power of healing!

To sum up Whitney… She strives to provide a safe place for men and women to learn and understand all parts of themselves (including the ones we’d rather not see), take risks in facing comfortable yet unhealthy beliefs and patterns, uncover the story behind the feelings, thoughts and actions (or lack thereof), and most importantly hold faith that men and women can find the happiness and contentment they desire in life and in relationship.
